Revamp cheap Ikea drawers to cute one-of-a-kind drawers with under S$5!

Tired of your cheap looking Ikea drawers with translucent drawers covers?
Look below of how you can totally revamp them with just under S$5!

Here's the original Ikea drawers that I bought from Ikea's As-Is corner for only S$69.

Sometimes I have guests over, and even though I keep my things in my storage, it still looks messy, especially the undergarments that I kept at the bottom shelf because the drawers are made of translucent material. And its quite exasperating as it always look untidy and I don't want others to see my under garments that I have in my drawers!

So I thought of an idea to cover it up. I bought some kitchen sheets for a cheap price, and started to try and cover the drawers... and the results is.. they look fantastic!

These are the kitchen sheets that I bought from Japan Home for this project. I chose these pink sheets with polka dots because I feel will fit with my white drawers nicely.

Measure the drawers surface that needed to be covered, and taped the entire area with double side tape.
Cut the layer foam into the approximate size of the drawer area that you need to cover, leaving a little area for tucking the sides in (around 3mm). If the extra area is too big, its a little harder to tuck them in neatly.

I used a penknife to slowly tuck the sides in neatly. And was careful not to use too much force as this kitchen sheet is really thin and may cut it instead. Later on, I used my fingernails to tuck them in. Its so much easier.

Repeated for all 3 panels.
And volia!

Cost of materials:
Kitchen sheet from Japan Home: S$1.90
Double side tape: S$2.30 for 8
Scissors: My own
Total costs: S$4.20

Time taken for this project:
1 hour

Now it looks great and I no longer have to let my guests see what kind of undergarments I have in the drawer! And its one of a kind drawer that you can never get it anywhere else.

This is a really simple yet rewarding project for me. Hope you all enjoy this as much as I do! :)
